I’m a recent graduate from the University of Vermont with an MS in Pathology (2024) and a BS in Neuroscience from Saint Michael's College (2022), with a specialized passion for neuropathology, neurotoxicology, forensic pathology, and medicolegal death investigation. With a comprehensive background in laboratory science and research, I bring a blend of technical expertise and investigative curiosity to every project I undertake.Professional Experience and Skills: Throughout my academic and professional journey, I’ve developed extensive laboratory skills in immunohistochemistry (IHC) protocols, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), vibratome and paraffin sectioning, and more. My MS studies provided hands-on experience in a clinical microbiology lab, participation in oncology board discussions, and an autopsy rotation—all of which deepened my interest in forensic pathology and the medicolegal aspects of death investigation.My research experiences span multiple collaborative projects:- Toxicology Research: I collaborated with the Vermont Department of Health Laboratory to investigate toxic manganese levels in children’s multivitamins.- Public Health Research: I contributed to the RURAL cohort study, leading to an abstract published in Circulation and a poster presentation at the 2023 AHA Scientific Sessions.- Neurobiology Research: My current work on sural nerve morphometry is awaiting publication in the Journal of Biomolecular Techniques.Additionally, during my undergraduate studies, I worked under Dr. Ruth Fabian-Fine on projects exploring neurotransmitters and neuropeptides in the spider model Cupiennius salei, where I honed foundational lab skills in IHC, dissection, and confocal microscopy. This solid foundation evolved at UVM, where I expanded my skill set to include advanced procedures in specimen preparation, staining, and microscopy.About Me: Beyond the lab, I’m a dedicated reader and puzzle enthusiast who appreciates life’s simple pleasures, from winter beach strolls to a good ice cream cone any time of the year. Based in southern Connecticut, I’m actively seeking new connections and opportunities in forensic pathology, neurotoxicology, and related fields.
