After many years working in retail management, I was fortunate to join the Human Resources Department at Ortner Management Group early in 2015. It may seem an unlikely transition but career experience has taught me that quality customer service is the best, most transferrable skill you can have. In July 2018, Horizon Management & Consulting Group took over services for Ortner Management Group and I transitioned with them in the role of Director of Human Resources. At the time, there was a team of 2 dedicated HR professionals. Today we are a team of 4, managing more than 450 employees across 15 facilities in northern California.Every day, I have the privilege to work with front-line employees, their managers and supervisors, and executives. I am partnered with five organizations in northern California, all of which assist clients living with diagnoses of severe mental health concerns. Each has different missions, programs and needs but a common objective: to always put our clients first. My number one goal is to take care of the people who take care of our clients. It is an honor to work with so many professionals and organizations that provide necessary and important services to an underserved population. We are always looking for fresh talent: licensed, clinical, lots of experience or none, people who hunger for new opportunities and challenges and have a deep desire to improve the lives of the people they work with.
