Music Educator, Church Musician, and Performing MusicianMargaret Davis has more than fifty years of teaching experience in public and private schools, including choral and instrumental music education with students from preschool and kindergarten through high school, students in special education from preschool through adult, college teaching, adult education, and artistically gifted and talented students. Areas of specialty include vocal training and choral music, piano and all keyboard instruments, orchestra, folk dance and creative movement, musical drama, integrating the arts across the curriculum, and classroom and program assessment.Since 1965 Mrs. Davis has served churches of many denominations as director of children's and adult choirs from preschool to senior adults, handbell director, organist, pianist, and soprano soloist.As a pianist, oboist, and singer, Mrs. Davis has extensive performing experience. In 1985 she began work as an Approved Artist in the South Carolina Arts Commission’s Arts in Education program, performing concerts and conducting residencies for thousands of children in South Carolina schools for 15 years. She has performed in communities and colleges throughout the Southeast. In addition to solo and chamber music performances of classical music, she was pianist and vocalist for the Big Time All-American Dixieland Band, which was awarded Community Tour Grants twice by the SC Arts Commission.
