I am a recent graduate of Loyola Marymount University, where I received a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Applied Mathematics. Through my coursework and job experiences, I have been exposed to a variety of lab settings and techniques. These range from topics such as bioinformatics, instrumental chemistry, cell culture, fisheries sciences and environmental education. From this breadth of experience, I have learned how to quickly learn new techniques, how to effectively problem solve, and have also gained proficiency in programs such as Excel, Matlab and Gephi.As a student, I held two lab positions, one in bioinformatics research and the other as an instrumental chemistry lab technician. I was very involved in campus life and through engagement in service organizations and executive boards that I developed management skills, communication skills, and a strong understanding of how to effectively work in a team setting. I have presented my research at many conferences over the years, and am comfortable presenting work to large groups of people.
