Role Overview:Preservation and Handling of Antique ClothingVisual Merchandising and Creative Role in ShowroomProcessing Invoices, Hire and Returns - Administrative WorkDigital Archive Management Database Work, including keywording and Metadata Attending Meetings - Shadowing Company DirectorsAn initial three month internship was extended to 7 months working within such a prestigious clothing archive gave me a unique insight into the importance of vintage clothing research in the design process.

Role Overview: assisting outerwear designer (Boss Casual Menswear)- Technical Drawing, CAD's, call outs, interiors, colour-ups, tech packs- Designing; understanding range planning and price, volume drivers, fashion pieces, budgeting, considering previous sale performance, aligning across departments- Cross Department Liaising -Pattern Cutting Department; attending fittings, understanding fit, technical construction, sourcing pre season garment references, understanding prototype developments - Fabric and Trim Department; involved in fabric selection, understanding MoQ's, surcharges, sample yardage, costing, sub contracting, considering EU and Asia fabrication, learning about hand, weight, weave, breathability, different faces, linings - Dye Specialists; understanding lab dips, PFD fabric and dye, temperature effects- PLM system, uploading colour-ups, storytelling labels, trim quantities, using the BOM for referencing, searching pre season styles- Meetings involving all departments; taking notes and summarising meeting objectives to inform designers- Presentations: shadowing outerwear designer during internal and industry external presentations, presenting collections, preparing presentation boards, preparing collection, taking notes on feedback - Lookbook: assisting lookbook preparation and shoots, dressing models, organising garments, accessories and shoes, collection garments from different departments- Archive and Source piece handling; using source pieces and the Hugo Bod achive are design references- Research; trends, brands, competition, mood, design details, innovative brands- Colour Cards and Trims boards; creating concept colour cards for all departments
