I love to help people become the musicians they have always wanted to be and prepare themselves to do much better work academically! Being able to play woodwind instruments is a wonderful gift that is simply "beyond words" and lasts a life-time. . .My individualized private music instruction is tailored to each student's needs, skills, and wishes. You and/or they will be able to learn choices of: seasonal music, classics, pops, marches, old favorites, hymns, standards, and/or Broadway show tunes. . . My students have opportunities to play in ensembles that rehearse at the convenience of the members and occasionally play for family gatherings, convalescent hospitals, private parties, churches, and senior centers... Many of my more advanced students have been selected to perform with the Contra Costa County and California State honor bands. It is very important to get a "good start" and I teach beginning, intermediate, and advanced students from 5 to 75 years of age. I love teaching students of all ages and abilities!!! I’m hoping that many more will sign up for individualized private flute, clarinet & sax lessons with me soon. I genuinely look forward to meeting their needs and wishes.Some of my students are intellectually and/or musically gifted. I also teach Down's Syndrome students and folks with autism and other disadvantages. . Frequently I teach two or more members of a family. The experience genuinely enhances family dynamics!

Another passion of my life is English handbell ringing.The Agape Ringers English Handbell Choir at the Community Presbyterian Church (CPC) in Danville is a multi-generational “small group” of people from many different walks of life and has a “family feel” to it and I am honored to lead it. A full compliment of 15 ringers rings music for 5 octaves of bells and for 5 octaves chimes (or a mix of bells and chimes) off of music that looks much like piano music and is capable of touching hearts and souls.It operates as a team, with each relatively rookie ringer being teamed up with an advanced veteran ringer. Several times each year the choir members share their music at convalescent homes, churches, and at other public places.We really need new members to fill current vacancies!!! Teens and adults are whole-heartedly invited to discover the joys of ringing English Handbells with us! No handbell ringing experience is necessary, but an instrumental music background is essential for joining the Agape Ringers. We are able to bring new ringers “up to speed” comfortably. We rehearse in the Annex at CPC on Thursday evenings from 7-9 pm.The Prime Time Ringers English Handbell Choir is for rookie ringers with helpful veteran ringers and meets on Tuesday mornings from 10:00 – 11:00 am. It is fun and it is free!
