I attended Lumen Christi High School, a school that taught ethics and hard work. My experiences at Grand Valley and Kellogg Community Colleges kept my nose to the grind stone and honed that hard work ethic through Co-op experiences with local business and groups like OEA - Office Education Association. Upon graduation I began working in the offices of companies who are no longer in business, however, they gave me a real appreciation for working in an office and with the public. Within a couple of years the office positions were no longer available in my area so I began another career. The Beauty industry was hot at the end of the 80's and into the 90's, so I went back to school. I obtained my Cosmetology Licence in 1998. I have been in this line of business now for 25-6 years. I still use many of the skills I learned in school for my Clerical Assistance Certificate.
