In ninth grade, I was awarded STAR student of the month for my hard work in class. This moment in my life has been special to me not because I felt like I deserved it, but because my teacher told me that "no matter what, I always wanted to make sure that others were doing well in class." This has stuck with me throughout my life. I have been motivated to make sure that others are able to do well in life (no matter the circumstance). When I was a trainer at Chick-Fil-A, I was able to feel accomplished by seeing new hires learn and be motivated to do their job. I always have enjoyed getting to know people one-on-one, as these connections made me get to know the person better and understand their own goals and aspirations. While I have been working for Chick-Fil-A for almost 4 years, this job has lead me to the path I want to take in life. I want to grow relationships with people and be able to motivate them to reach their goals. Secondly, I want to be there for people who feel like they do not have someone in their corner: America's incarcerated. I am hoping to be able to counsel and support people who have been incarcerated.
