With the boom in trading on the stock market and the subsequent tech stock crash MetaShare recognised the need to change their emphasis from making money with a small investment of time each day to the value of learning how to manage your investment money. Driving the marketing needs of a unique programme developed for Telecom staff 'On the Spot' was an in-house sales lead programme for all Telecom staff who did NOT work in sales. In their work roles and social lives Telecom staff were often asked to be experts in helping their customers solve problems; from complaints to product enquiries. On the Spot rewarded Telecom staff for taking 'ownership' of people's product enquiries (not matter where they encountered them) and rewarded them for… Show more Driving the marketing needs of a unique programme developed for Telecom staff 'On the Spot' was an in-house sales lead programme for all Telecom staff who did NOT work in sales. On the Spot rewarded Telecom staff for taking 'ownership' of people's product enquiries (not matter where they encountered them) and rewarded them for their efforts. With a small call centre, staff members could call in with a sales opportunity which would be registered and passed through to an already existing sales channel. Each of the opportunities was monitored and staff were rewarded for successful sales.In my mar/comms role I was responsible for keeping this programme 'top of mind' and accessible for staff, from management to the guys fixing faults in the street. As an initiative this programme contributed significant income streams to the company, but also, most importantly helped encourage a more customer focussed approach for many of the people working for the company.
