I am a library and research professional with a strong interest in science and technology. Since 2013, I have supported competitive intelligence research at an AmLaw 100 law firm. My work helps attorneys develop Extreme Expertise to better advise clients working in complex industries.Prior to this, I assisted small high-tech firms with their research and information needs.My experiences as a market researcher over the last several years have developed my ability to be conversant with scientists and engineers about their research, and strengthened my 'search muscle' as I find actionable information for clients. This information often helps them evaluate their potential market and identify key players that will be a boon or a barrier to the introduction of their technology to the marketplace.My experience of the library as an open, encouraging environment for growth and the sharing of ideas influenced my decision to pursue library science. My areas of interest include emerging and digital technologies, photographic and recorded media, and archival collections. One of my major interests is in the access of digital information, including open access resources, mobile access to libraries, digital repositories, and digital and search literacy. I also have a strong interest in patron service - I strive to spend each day helping people fulfill their information needs!
