Currently, I am working on my thesis, titled "Towards Perception of Zero Latency in Teleoperation: a Predictive Digital Twin Interface for Remote Planetary Rovers", which addresses the challenges of teleoperating planetary ground robots with communication delays between Earth and the Moon. I am also an active member of the MEROP (More Effective Remote teleOPeration interfaces) research group at the Institute of Systems and Robotics of Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon. My involvement includes developing and testing a teleoperation system for ground rovers to enhance performance and responsiveness. Recently, we participated in the AMADEE-24 mission, a Mars analogue simulation in Armenia conducted by the Austrian Space Forum. I had the opportunity to be at the Mission Control Center in Vienna, where I actively participated in the Flight Control Center (FCT) room and closely monitored our experiment being performed by Analog Astronauts (AAs).
