Finance Reporting & Analytics (HR and Corp Affairs)Partnering with the Global Human Resources and Corporate Affairs executives and their corresponding teams in supporting a budget totaling approximately ~$350M. I am responsible for providing global financial monthly activity support, accounting guidance and integration support to the above listed functions. • Managing of the strategic plan, facilitating the end to end process and driver of planning meetings in order to develop a bottoms up budget build of our standalone and merged companies’ annual budget plans• Supporting our stakeholders in the development of the annual budget plan and periodic projection updates to this plan as the business evolves as key events occur such as merger/acquisitions and changes to business direction/objectives• Using my strong working knowledge of the general ledger, financial systems (SAP Suite/Hyperion) and business operating model in order to provide value-added decision making proposals, track/monitor project spend, preparation and successful closure of month/quarter end while maintaining US GAAP standards and internal controls• Analyzing the month, quarter financial activity in order to provide insightful stewardship of the business, which includes understanding key variances against budget, determining synergies that would enable organization toward profitability, continuous learning of the business mechanics and anticipating issues/resolutions for our business partners

Institutional Business - Performance ManagementTerritories/Network Expense Management

ABX Continuous Improvement (FLDP) Work closely with business, operations and technology leaders across Service Operations to drive critical transformations that deliver on the company's vision. Responsible for implementing continuous improvement initiatives in a business unit of 1500+ through facilitation and execution of complex initiatives. Guide managers to analyze, develop and implement solutions and provide coaching. Key Accomplishments:• Collaborate across the Finance organization’s leadership to effectively execute and facilitate high-impact, cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives through the application of lean six sigma methodology• Cultivate and strengthen relationships across the organization in conjunction with implementing a lean operating system• Enhance quality, customer satisfaction, associate engagement and cost savings through value stream mapping, process redesign and root cause analysis while leveraging change management techniques

Corporate Tax (FLDP)Responsible for forecasting, accruing and filing the IRS tax forms related to State Premium Taxes. Assisted Corporate Controllers through the complex process of evaluating the Premium Tax trend during the transformation period with Humana. Worked closely with business partners to update the pricing model of the Insurance Policies when significant legal changes occurred in the many states Aetna is domiciled.Key Accomplishments:• Booked the Premium Taxes (~$250M a year) accurately in Oracle and produce consolidated financial reports for monthly actual reporting on the profit and loss statements• Prepared state specific returns for Premium Taxes due on an annual basis and provided state auditors additional materials to validate accurate Premium Tax accruals and payments• Arranged detailed support for SG&A tax audits (internal/external (KPMG)) related to SOX controls• Led an effort to automate the accrual process resulting in to a more efficient, effective, repeatable and measurable process• Worked with Investment Accounting to book Premium Tax credits that reduced our tax expense and liability exposures (~$4M of tax credits every quarter) • Provided our Corporate Tax department with Hyperion financial analysis for a monthly Executive SG&A meeting to discuss our actuals to forecast trending

Planning Performance Risk Management (FLDP)Responsible for providing our company-wide Executive Management a detailed analysis of Aetna’s monthly performance related to Revenue, SG&A, Membership and Health Insurance industry related metrics.Key Accomplishments:• Provided management financial analysis and reporting focused on business related metrics at a consolidated and drilled down business view• Forecasted the growth of Membership in key revenue generating business segments and worked with business leaders to gain insight into membership decline trends all in order to provide executive management with course corrective ideas• Provided Investor Relations executives with financial analysis of company performance, consolidated this information for CEO, CFO and President to use during quarterly conference calls and public financial results• Automated the process of generating the financial reports from Hyperion, helped improve the turn around time from 6 hours to 1.5 hours while increasing quality and applying error proofing practices

International Finance Operations•Supported the team in identifying, documenting project risk assessments and developing mitigation plans•Used Pivot Tables, Access and Hyperion to evaluate monthly Man Hours worked across various project sites•Provided comparison reports of forecast and actuals for Man Hours to management for their monthly Cost Management meetings•Utilized internal databases to develop “Percent of Completion” reports in order to estimate the current phase of build process; Used this information to assist management in updating the 5 Year Corporate Plan•Used historical and forecast data to perform trend analysis, earned value management and reporting of performance, developing financial projections

International Accounting• Assisted with international audits, inter-company monthly balance roll-forward process and documentation of transfer pricing• Supported accounting staff with full-year forecasts on a GAAP standard and entered monthly actuals into Oracle for general ledger balancing and quarterly financial results
