About Dr Margie Warrell
Thirty years of living and working across the world have taught me this: fear, often hidden and unconscious, is the greatest saboteur of good decision-making and effective actions for individuals and organizations alike. My work centers on helping leaders and teams close this "courage gap" by operating from a courage mindset—one that reframes risk and anchors to a bold purpose, enabling braver actions and better results.Growing up in rural Australia, I learned early that "growth and comfort can’t ride the same horse." This principle underpins my work helping people unlock potential and amplify impact. From coaching leaders one-on-one to speaking to audiences of 10,000+ and facilitating workshops, team off-sites, and retreats, I create space for people to reset on a bold vision with a compelling Why. My journey has taken me to stages in 25+ countries as a keynote speaker and to advising political leaders, Fortune 100 C-suite executives, and working in CEO & Enterprise Leadership Institute at Korn Ferry. I’ve authored six books, including my latest, The Courage Gap (Jan ’25), and regularly contribute insights to Forbes, CNN, and The Wall Street Journal.I mentor emerging leaders with McCain Global Fellows and serve on several boards, including the Women’s Democracy Network, Harvard Business Review Advisory Board, and Forbes School of Business & Technology. I also draw on my doctoral research to advance women to decision-making tables. Outside of work, I love the outdoors, exploring new cultures, and authentic conversations with curious people who want to use their gifts for the greater good.

Keynote Speaker
Leadership Advisor & Executive Coach
CurrentWith over 25 years of global experience in leadership coaching, facilitation and keynote speaking, I specialize in helping purpose-driven leaders scale their influence for the greater good. Having worked with Fortune 500 executives, founders, and political leaders across sectors and continents, I deeply understand the hidden forces that undermine leadership—and how leaders can rise above them to lead with greater impact, purpose, resilience and courage.Leadership growth starts with personal growth. Inner development drives sustainable outer effectiveness. As leaders advance into positions of greater influence, who they are and how they show up matter more than the technical expertise that got them there.I support leaders in cultivating a courage mindset—both for themselves and within their teams and organizations. This includes: • Aligning personal and professional purpose • Taking calculated risks in complex circumstances • Mastering crucial conversations • Making decisive choices • Nurturing talent & fostering accountability • Galvanizing diverse stakeholders behind a shared visionMy work empowers leaders to unlock their own potential while fostering cultures of courage that inspire and elevate everyone around them. What my clients say:“Margie’s coaching has been transformative for my personal growth and professional development. I’m now far more confident in presenting to senior leadership, prioritizing effectively, and addressing challenging issues. Her impact was so profound that I invited her to coach my entire team, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.”— Miranda Mason, Partner, AccentureMy clients count on me to ask the hard questions that broaden their thinking, reveal blind spots, and close the gap between who they are and who they aspire to be.
Keynote Speaker
CurrentI never set out to be a keynote speaker. In fact, I had never even heard of 'keynote speaking' until I'd moved to the US in my thirties. Being invited to speak at gatherings - from 25 to 25,000 - is such an immense privilege that I've never given the same speech twice. Rather, after all the preparation is done, I've learned to trust my intuition so that I can adapt on fly to say what people most need to hear. I'd like to think that the endorsements I've received reflect the impact I've made. I share a few below but you can find more on my website:"Margie’s opening keynote was nothing short of spectacular! Her message is onethat everyone should hear in their lifetime.” – Mike Morini, CEO, WorkForce Software“Margie’s keynote on creating a culture of courage was dynamic, passionate, and thought-provoking. The feedback from our top 100 leaders was overwhelmingly positive.” - Rachael Powell, Chief People Officer, XERO "The standing ovation she received reflected how much the audience loved Margie. I strongly recommend Margie for any event that ties into meaningful advancement." – Rich Wilson, President and CEO, Paul Davis “Margie’s ideas, perspective and ability to deliver thought-provoking and empowering sessions for leaders of all levels from diverse backgrounds is impressive. I've engaged her for many leadership events, always with incredible feedback.” - Edweena Stratton, VP Employee Success, SalesforceYou can find plenty more information at MargieWarrell.com/Speaking
