Led coordination and provided technical guidance across six DRC operational areas, ensuring the effective implementation of protection activities amid active conflict in Sudan. Collaborated with DRC protection teams to devise creative solutions for delivering protection programming despite severe movement restrictions and logistical challenges, and, when needed, supported the full reprogramming of protection efforts, including workplan and budget revisions. • Partnered with the Emergency Response Rooms (ERRs), a grassroots organization of frontline responders. Provided protection and safeguarding technical guidance, effectively supporting lifesaving evacuations and localized emergency protection assistance by the ERRs across Sudan.o Over 700 individuals facing imminent life-threatening risks (i.e., GBV and severe medical cases) were safely relocated.o Established service mapping and referral systems for relocated individuals in their destination locations.o Co-designed and provided technical guidance to the ERRs on general protection activities such as Women and Girls Safe Spaces, Child-Friendly Spaces, and Psychosocial Support. Total individuals supported exceeded 1640 in the project’s initial phase.• Coordinated the roll out and training of frontline protection tools and activities for DRC protection staff. • Advised DRC and the RRM consortium on mainstreaming protection into their emergency programs across sectors such as Shelter, Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA), Health, Water,Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), and Food, Security and Livelihood (FSL). • Ensured adherence to updated Protection Monitoring protocol and data collection tools throughout areas of operation along with standardization of key protection tools (i.e., service mapping, intake forms, referrals)• Staffing gap coverage for Protection Managers and the country-level Protection Coordinator.• Active member of GBV Working Group and the Sudan Protection Cluster.

• Supported the White Nile Scoping Tool in assessing the feasibility of establishing emergency and longer-term protection operations, including protection risk analysis within a new DRC operational base.• Initiated the set-up of DRC protection programming, i.e., service mapping, referral services, and psychosocial first aid.• Coordinated with local and state-level inter-agencies and multi-sectoral actors, including Health, GBV Sub-Sector, Protection, and Shelter.

Provided technical oversight to the planning, implementation, and coordination of DRC Sudan protection activities in the three area sub-offices of Nertiti, Um Dukhan, and Golo. Supported protection field teams with strengthening their capacities and ensured the technical soundness of activities, particularly with Community-Based Protection Networks, GBV, Individual Protection Assistance, referrals systems, and service mapping. • Within the first three months of arrival, closed three donor projects with a collective project amount of over one million USD.• Created and established three local Protection Working Groups based in each sub-office.• Conducted remote capacity building on critical protection activities upon the outbreak of the war in April 2023, including protection mainstreaming training for select Save the Children offices.• Represented DRC in state-level and local-level coordination between protection actors, community leaders, NNGOs, INGOs, government actors (i.e., Humanitarian Aid Commission (HAC), and UN agencies. • Supported monthly and final narrative reports on project activities, including timely updates on protection activity indicator reports and protection monitoring.

Provided immediate support through a Temporary Transfer Assignment for South Sudan’s GBV SC due to the departure of the GBV SC Co-Lead and the two GBV SC Field Coordinators. Managed and trained two GBV SC Assistants. Coordinated emergency and non-emergency GBV-related humanitarian action within South Sudan with the goal to ensure that GBV partners were accountable to the people of concern, programming systems were effective to ensure accessible and safe services, and GBV prevention, mitigation, and response mechanisms were in place. • Supported and managed 15 state-level GBV field coordination structures, i.e. review of SOPs, service mapping and referral pathways, provision of tailored capacity building trainings, and prepositioning of key resources such as dignity kits.• Engaged with other clusters (CP,WASH,FSL, Education, etc) to ensure the inclusion of GBV risk mitigation practices in assessments, response, and programming• Promoted & advocated for increased support, coordination & capacity building of Women-Led Organizations (WLOs) & NNGOs to further strengthen the localization agenda• Built partnerships with GBV SC partners to spearhead GBV programing, which included UN Agencies, Ministry of Gender, INGOs, NNGOs, & WLOs• Reinforced the importance of integrating disability inclusion approaches & tools into GBV programming• Member of coordination forums to represent the GBV SC, which included Protection Cluster, GBV SC Technical Reference Groups (TRG), Strategic Advisory Group, Inter Cluster Coordination Group, GBV SC Coordination, other clusters, etc.• Prepared standard periodic reports & progress updates• Managed and implemented grant work plans; contributed to grant proposals and budget planning.• Met with donors to highlight funding gaps for GBV programing

Collaboration and coordination with site leadership and stakeholders – including health and social service providers, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Department of State (DOS) and Department of Defense (DOD) – to mainstream protection and ensure culturally appropriate programming. Took action to mitigate safety risks for, at its peak, the over 14,000 Afghan guests living on base. • Mapped surrounding social service providers and community organizations for protection-related expertise and services. • Facilitated the establishment and implementation of functional response and referral protocols for Interpersonal Violence, Mental Health Concerns and Child Welfare Concerns as well as best practice for access to legal services.• On-going assessment and monitoring of protection protocol effectiveness.• Completed weekly and monthly narrative and indicator tracking reports.• Built capacity through protection-related training and education to NGO staff, DOD and DHS response teams.• Direct response and technical support to high-risk cases.• Established and facilitated weekly protection coordination meetings for all health and social services providers, as well as other stakeholders (ie. DHS, DOS, DOD, USCCB) on base, particularly in the event of an immediate safety concern.• Partnered with the Guest Information and Communication Services Specialist to provide transparent and accurate messaging regarding protection topics to Afghan guests. • Management and capacity building training of protection focal points team, including two DOD members who supported protection-related activities.

Provided case management for a fixed-term to refugee, asylee, and other ORR-eligible clients who found themselves struggling to navigate the U.S. systems and function effectively after other resettlement programs end. · Clients included those with severe physical and/or mental health conditions, women at risk, LGBTQIA+, single-headed households, and survivors of torture. · Worked with and supported clients through a strengths-based, client-centered model of service delivery. · Advocated for and connected clients with internal and external resources to remove barriers that may prevent them from achieving self-sufficiency.· Supervised 6 ICM interns and 2 MSW (Master of Social Work) students as the field instructor.

Developed and nurtured relationships with local trade schools to increase student interest in marine workforce, particularly through a state apprenticeship program. The program goal was to build and enhance local workforce, spur economic growth and provide education in sustainable vessel construction. • Wrote and assembled grant proposals for up to $1M in federal funding, with supplemental documents such as financial statements, narrative reports, quantitative analysis, vendor quotes, and needs analysis. • Lobbied support from community leaders and elected officials, including a congressman, senator, assemblyman, and the county executive.

Served as a bridge of support and communication between survivors of domestic violence and the NYPD’s 88th precinct. Provided comprehensive case management for survivors in the form of safety planning, crisis intervention, and community support and referrals. Partnered with law enforcement on home visits, including high- risk environments. Trained police officers on sensitivity and survivor-centered best practices to prevent re-traumatization. • Advocated and provided services for approximately 430 survivors of domestic violence; exceeded contact deliverables. • Established critical networking relationships and promoted the Crime Victim Assistance Program at community panels and across social service organizations.

Aided in the development of a nationwide support and outreach model for street-group members and to increase public safety. Collected data and research covering topics on trauma and youth, trauma-informed care experts, and intervention methods like those of the National Network for Safe Communities. • Composed annual reports, summaries, a grant proposal, and a service delivery model utilized to assess progress made by partner cities and to identify their needs.• Support and outreach model contributed to a 41% reduction in group member-involved homicides in Cincinnati and a 32% reduction in group member-involved victimization in Chicago.

Connected clients to programs and services for critical financial, food, housing, and employment needs. Conducted initial and follow-up needs assessments of clients at Community Center and Food Pantry. • Advocated for nearly 750 clients to ensure their immediate and long-term needs were met.

Provided functional support to guide the Advancing Integrated Mental Health Solutions (AIMS) Center through the deployment of programs such as telehealth and integrated mental health care in primary care clinics. Created and evaluated patient surveys to acquire feedback of new services.

Trained and supervised a five-member team on the lab’s core interventions – the Mindfulness Study and the Relationship Improvement Study. Conducted interventions, analyzed resulting data, and tracked progress to maintain quality of studies, which included administering follow-up assessments. • Research and data were later published as part of an article discussing the interventions.
