Main tasks include synthesis, polymerization and coatings/ paint formulation, customer contact, raw material sourcing, chemical registration and guiding bachelor students.Several main topics of projects:• Optimization of paint and coating systems and raw material exchange:- Water based paint- Solvent based paint- UV/ UV-LED curable coatings and UV castings• Optimization and incorporation of intumescent properties in sprayable PVC coatings• Preparation of cork spray paint and guiding scale up at toll manufacturer• Preparation of various emulsion polymers • Organic synthesis: functionalization of biobased glycidol (including work-up and analysis)• Formulation of recovered carbon black in various coating systems• Guiding and evaluation of interns (8 interns, 3rd and 4th year Bachelors)

Development of natural powder based wall paint• Preparation of colors• White formulation without titanium dioxide• Gathering raw materials and contact with suppliers and distributors• Scale-up at production location
