EntrepreneurMy passion has always been to make a positive difference in the lives of others. To reduce suffering, whatever form it may present as. I learned caregiving early in my life. I enjoyed the thrill of helping my cousin at lambing time and grew up with everything under the sun. Being exposed as a child to the realities of death taught me valuable, difficult lessons also. I bring an ease with that natural balance, with the non verbal language of nature, of the body to my practice. Thirty some more years of working with humans in all sorts of conditions and predicaments has added a respect for the human condition not found in books or Online. Most of my years have been dedicated to newborns. I believe we spend our entire lifetimes trying to get back to where they are! Amazing little miracles that they are parents are usually ill prepared for 'hearing' them and sharing a home with them after escaping the hospital. Although my training is to do much more, I have found my most valuable assistance with new families often is to get everyone tuned into the same band wave and stop wondering why the other seems so high strung. Once they accomplish that life gets much easier for all. The other transition that has deeply affected me in my professional life has been that of Hospice nurse. I am struck by the intimacy of the gift we are given by being allowed to share in the sacredness of death. With my experience, and desire to be of service assisting in a more peaceful journey I would like to make people more aware instead of being just one at one bedside. As different as these two callings may sound they are flip sides of the same coin.
