In this role, in addition to my existing responsibilities, I overhauled the accounting system from 50+ instances on Quickbooks Desktop to a consolidated environment on Sage Intacct. This project involved streamlining chart of accounts and other dimensions, meticulously reviewing and re-coding historical journal entries, creating custom reports, and establishing software integrations. The completion of this project led to 40%+ time saved for the accounting team.

As the inaugural senior accountant, I was a self-stater who immediately took ownership of my work at an office that oversees all financial reporting, bill pay, treasury management, tax compliance and planning, estate planning, residential and commercial property management and development, aircraft, and philanthropy for a multi-generational family.My responsibilities included: • Assisting the Controller and CFO with various accounting related and financial reporting tasks• Maintaining the general ledgers and journal entries for Individuals, Trusts, Special purpose vehicles, Investment Partnerships, and a Private Foundation• Processing all bill payments and monitoring bank account balances• Reconciling monthly bank/brokerage statements, including downloading/filing online bank statements and/or tax documents from bank websites• Processing payments and tracking all government and compliance tax filings• Assisting in preparation of year-end tax work-papers and supporting schedules for external tax team• Managing/reconciling various other schedules• Performing various ad-hoc and/or administrative functions as requested

In this role, I completed the following duties:-Supported treasury functions and oversaw bank activity, accounts payable, and employee reimbursements-Prepared and reconciled payroll for 400+ employees including 401(k) and benefit remittance-Managed month-end close including journal entries, account reconciliation, and COGS/OPEX analysis-Coordinated with international teams to support intercompany balances and global operations-Aligned various department budgets with actuals to provide insight for future decisions

The Accounting & CFO advisory department provides external accounting services to start-up companies in the Silicon Valley with an emphasis in the SaaS industry.My responsibilities included:-month-end close preparation-balance sheet reconciliation-transaction and payroll processing-accounts payable and expense report management-financial statement preparation with flux analysis-various tax filings such as 1099 preparation, Delaware franchise tax, San Francisco annual business tax, various property taxes, sales & use tax, and income tax PBC assistanceI utilized platforms such as Sage Intacct, QuickBooks Online, ADP, Gusto, Expensify and Bill.com.

I participated in the rotation program for nine months to experience different service lines of the firm and to gain a broad perspective of the roles of a CPA. I got experience with:-tax preparation and planning for individuals, partnerships, and wineries-assurance and advisory where I assisted in financial statement, SOX compliance, and forensic audits-high net worth family office clients performing bill pay and bank reconciliations-accounting services and CFO advisory where I was responsible for transaction processing, employee expense reimbursement, balance sheet reconciliation and other monthly close tasks

I was accountable for work-paper calculations and source document data entry for individual income tax preparation. I used ProSystems, Gofileroom, and Adobe Acrobat.

I worked for a family-run real-estate and lending firm where I was responsible for handling loan deposits, issuing payments, preparing bank reconciliations, and paper filing. I performed loan payment calculations and prepared the related statements for internal and external users. I managed the firm's transition from manual loan processing to an automated computer system.
