Business Law Group (“BLG”) focuses on assisting community associations to collect past due assessments, fees, and costs from foreclosing mortgagees, investors, and developers at the trial and appellate court levels. During my time as the firm’s Administrator, the scope of my responsibilities were vast and ranged from developing the firm’s policies and procedures, working directly with computer programmers to develop custom software for our electronic platform, recruiting both attorneys and support staff, to being responsible for trust account management. In addition, my work as a Florida Registered Paralegal meant that I was instrumental in forming and maintaining companies for the firm’s clients, worked extensively in the area of raising capital, drafted complex agreements, with my time at BLG culminating as a prominent member of a successful IPO team taking a company public in 2015 on Nasdaq.

Foley & Lardner LLP (“F&L”) is an international law firm started in 1842 that offers services for business law, health law, litigation, intellectual property, regulatory affairs, and taxation. During my almost twelve years at “F&L”, I was provided with a unique opportunity to work in a wide variety of practice areas. Primarily my day consisted of mergers, acquisitions, due diligence, company formation and required SEC filings for publicly held companies. I also worked extensively with officers and directors of public companies in maintaining their Section 16 compliance with the SEC. Since corporate and securities work can be cyclical by nature, I gained a high level of proficiency in the areas of probate, trusts and estates, and finally health care regulatory work. My time at F&L was incredibly valuable since it provided me with the skills that were needed to work across a wide range of projects at any given time.

Since 1884, Macfarlane Ferguson & McMullen (“MFM”) has served clients throughout Florida as a full-service law firm that is organized into key practice areas embracing personal, transaction and litigation matters. I started with MFM as a legal secretary moving from the land use practice to the corporate practice after the first year. The move proved both challenging and educational. Eventually, I was assigned to work for the firm’s managing partner which provided me with an extensive background in corporate transactions and compliance, law firm management and the nuances associated with firm billing and the art of collections. Within five years, I was promoted to the firm’s Administrator and worked extensively in associate and attorney compensation, responsible for maintaining the firm’s retirement and health care plans, streamlined staff efficiency, associate and law clerk recruiting and finally client development.
