Start up a research project into the ight behaviour of Griffon Vultures and Shorttoed Eagles. Literature research, nest searches for Short-toed Eagles, obtain necessary permits, behavioural observations of Short-toed Eagles, help with trapping and banding of Griffon Vultures, manage UvA-GPS transmitters and process their data, radio-tracking.

Census of waders, trapping and ringing of waders and raptors

Hand feeding and monitoring Osprey chicks in the hacking cages, help with measuring, banding and fitting radio-transmitters to the chicks before release, make behavioural observations after release and radio tracking.

Harrier surveys and nest protection, lesser kestrel nest site monitoring, liaising with farmers and landowners, managing volunteers, assisting with care for injured animals and raptors in the captive breeding program and various other duties.

Raptor population surveys (nest searching and monitoring, feather collection)

Work included horse care and training, customer relations and guiding horseback riding tours on the beach and in the mountains.

During my time at Hawkmountain I participated in their internship program, where I gained a lot of knowledge on raptor research techniques, such as road surveys, trapping, banding, radio- and satellite telemetry. Also I helped on the mountain during the weekend with the interpretation on the lookouts and the educational programs and gained experience.

I worked at the CINAT on a project for my M.Sc. degree titled:Resource partitioning between two sympatric stingless bee species: Trigona corvina and Tetragonisca angustula.This project included the writing of a research proposal, fieldwork including vegetation surveys and collecting pollen samples from bees, microscopic analysis of the pollen samples.
