Born and raised in Nassau, Bahamas, Marguerite Samuel has been singing from an early age. Her abilities and regard for her chosen craft grew with each performance, laying the foundation for her career as a soprano vocalist, choral conductor, voice teacher, composer, singer/songwriter, and music educator. As a soprano vocalist, she has sung in venues throughout the United States and the Caribbean, including leading roles in operas such as “Pirates of Penzance” and “Hansel and Gretel”. Her solo performances have been featured on the Three Angels Broadcasting Networking, a globally televised Christian network, and in many televised services for Pioneer Memorial Church at Andrews University in Berrien Springs, MI.She has sung in various choirs throughout her career and performed as a soloist with ensembles based in the Bahamas and the United States such as the Meister Singers and Andrews University Singers. Her repertoire has included diverse styles of music including classical, gospel, African-American spirituals, jazz, folk music and more. Her conducting experience includes being the co-director of Journey Ministries, a volunteer singing group comprised of university students and alumni, director of the Sanctuary Choir at Pioneer Memorial Church, and the artistic director for the Plant City Community Chorale Women’s Ensemble in Florida. In addition to her work with adult performers, she has worked on the secondary level, serving for five years at the Great Lakes Adventist Academy as a vocal instructor, and choral and string ensemble director. She taught K-5 Classroom Music and freshman and sophomore Music Appreciation at North Tampa Christian Academy. She also taught Pre-Kindergarten through 8th-grade classroom music and a bell choir at East Pasco Adventist Academy.Marguerite Samuel holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education with an emphasis in voice, and a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from Andrews University.
