Hi! I'm Mar.I'm from bustling and colourful Mexico City, lived for a short while in sunny Miami, and now live in vibrant Madrid. Living in these cities has made me confident in facing the unexpected, determined to keep discovering, and passionate about stories. (And, obsessed with Mexican pastries, the beach, and most recently, Manolitos). As a 10+ year experience Graphic Designer I create logos, digital content, editorial applications, branding assets and presentations, using design principles such as color, composition, typography and balance. I am passionate about creating complete and cohesive visual concepts and identities, retouching photos, researching trends and constantly improving my skills.In 2019 I earned a master's degree in Communication Design, where I began applying brand strategy and storytelling to my work. Working on research and analysis, identifying the brand reason and relevance, target audience, voice, communicating to others the strategy and developing communication strategies to forge a connection between the brand and the user and foster strategic brand growth. To me, it's all about creating a universe, and how to best tell its story.I have been fortunate to work with people from all over the world, of all ages and cultures. These perspectives have helped me see branding and design in different ways, and understand how when used with real data and aligned with business goals, they can be used to solve real problems. In these teams, I have had the opportunity to lead and manage, managing the team's timelines and tasks.I'm constantly looking for inspiration in design, art, music, pop culture, and fashion, organising my findings, making connections, and creating concepts - my own Reference Library, which is fundamental to my work and creative growth. As for the future, I plan on connecting with more incredible people and projects, growing as a designer, and bringing great stories to life.
