I arrived in Wisconsin fall 2019 with 15 years of PR, communications and reporting experience, completely new to tourism, but I am loving it so far. I find the tourism world is a small one, filled with lovely people who see one another as colleagues, not competitors. In a way, beginning a new job in a new state right before a pandemic has shown me the best sides to this industry and those working within it. Everyone is working toward supporting his/her community and partners. It's work I'm proud to be a part of.Travel is one of my favorite pastimes and I've made a habit to come home with a piece of art from every new place I visit. I also love exploring Wisconsin’s scenic outdoor spaces as much as I enjoy finding those “hidden gems,” like the National Mustard Day Festival in Middleton (first Saturday of August), and taking a tour of a cheese factory or whiskey distillery or winery.
