My entire life I have had one passion- helping others. As an artist in my free time, I consider outside-of-the-box thinking to be essential: figuring out how to fix a painting I smudged, designing experiments, or fixing broken ornaments are all hopeless tasks without a little bit of creativity. Through various volunteer programs in the past, I have served the young and the elderly, the healthy and the sick. Each experience has only amplified my drive and ability to help others and understand deeper issues that individuals may face. Patience, compassion, problem-solving, time management, and finding the things I value in life are all strengths I gained through volunteering. Seeing the struggles of others- like my own parents who came here as immigrants and worked hard to give me a better life- drives me to be the best I can be. I know I am extremely privileged to have had such opportunities, so I strive to give back to those in need in the community. In my journey at The Ohio State University, I hope to continue giving back, pushing myself academically, and progress towards my goal of becoming a doctor one day.
