Blue Star is a General Contractor based out of Houston: working on such projects as apartment buildings, metal storage buildings, U-Haul locations and other storage facility jobs (i.e. lockers, decals, concrete construction, floor prep/coating, curbs, framing, sheet rock, painting, and other small utility jobs). I was responsible for locating and managing sub-contractors for jobs assigned by the owner of the company - to include supervison of the job site, budgeting, scheduling, safety, and on-time completion of work. This included:- Minimizing project overruns by holding sub-contractors accountable for ontime completion. - Creating SOW's for sub-contractors and negotition of contracts on behalf of Blue Star.- Making material and equipement rentals/purchases - including P-Card w/reconciliation.- Scheduling of overnight travel for work crews – when needed.- Interface with clients during project inspections, corrections, and/or contract changes.- Keeping records and providing updates to the owner on the status of projects using MS Office Software. - Served as a subject matter expert for estimation of concrete jobs (i.e. slab, driveways, curbs, drainage).

I was hired at the start up of the company to provide office management for the company including finding and setting up sub-contractors; taking care of cash accounting and book keeping; scheduling overnight travel for sub-contractors and work crew; and reviewing prints and estimating some concrete construction work for the owner using BlueBeam Software.

AmeriPaving is a sub-contractor of concrete, asphalt, and general utility jobs for General Contractor companies and/or clients for small to moderate size jobs.During my time at AmeriPaving, I provided office management for the company including finding and setting up sub-contractors; taking care of cash accounting and book keeping; scheduling overnight travel for sub-contractors and work crew; and reviewing prints and estimating some concrete construction work for clients with the owner. I became successful at estimating and client interaction, which led to new work and growth for the business.
