I am a Ph.D. candidate in Economics at Universitat de Barcelona under the supervision of Professors Lídia Farré (IAE-CSIC) and Andreu Arenas (UB-IEB).I completed my undergraduate and graduate studies in Economics at Universidad de Montevideo (UM) and pursued master's studies in Public Policy and Economics at the University of Washington (UW).During my time at UM's Center for Research in Applied Economics (2015 - 2018), I evaluated strategies to increase the take-up of social benefits and labor formalization among deeply vulnerable populations and studied ICT interventions on adults' cognitive deterioration. Subsequently, I worked at UW's Education Policy Analytics Lab (2018 - 2019), where I assessed policies and practices to promote academic excellence and equity in student outcomes by cultivating effective teachers.I am affiliated with the Institut d'Economia de Barcelona (IEB) as a Pre-Doctoral Researcher. My doctoral thesis, "Essays on Education and Labor Economics", evaluates the impact of school electrification on students' educational outcomes and family well-being, quantifies the child penalty on women’s wages over time in Spain, and explores the determinants of the prevailing gender gap in STEM fields.
