Working with colleagues across Alltech Europe to create innovative product + service offerings for customers in the poultry and pork industry.Aligning Alltech's primacy in science with its mission for a Planet of Plenty to support customers with performance issues and sustainability aims.Responsible for market segmentation and key account management.Develop strategic B2B marketing plans for the European market.

Responsible for creating and rolling out the strategic marketing plan for poultry across Europe. Work closely with product teams, research teams, technical support teams and poultry consultants to innovate new solutions, implement tactics and create marketing materials that are targeted, accurate and appropriate to the European market. Support the European poultry sales team and poultry customers to ensure a customer-centric approach and alignment of resources.

Key responsibilities include:• Developing and implementing Alltech’s public relations strategy and global corporate communications projects• Creative and strategic in-put for marketing campaigns including media buying and pitching or articles and interviews to global agri media• Developing messages, talking points and content marketing campaigns• Creating and managing social media and website content utilising SEO best practise • Developing on-going pitching plans, including development of creative pitches to appropriate media targets• Communication support through both social and mainstream media platforms for global brands, species and regional campaigns• Project management of events including trade shows, Alltech conferences and events, press tours and the management of the press room at various international Alltech events• Internal communication and promotion of Alltech events• Representing Alltech at various industry events and conferences• Provide confidential communications support for senior management and crisis management

• Contribute to the creation of successful European Commission-funded marketing and education campaigns• Deliver high impact public awareness and educational initiatives and projects in line with the ethos of Agri Aware while promoting the benefits of the Common Agriculture Campaign to the general public• Develop public relations, marketing and communications and social media plans and strategies to convey the importance of the Irish agri-food industry, write press releases and pitch interviews to journalists• Plan and execute Agri Aware’s presence at key agricultural, food and educational events • Plan press conferences and secure media coverage for Agri Aware events, projects and initiatives; including post-campaign analysis • Manage the redevelopment of the Agri Aware’s website• Develop and oversee Agri Aware’s social media strategy including developing key relationships with social influencers and food, farming and education journalists• Develop and manage digital marketing strategies and campaigns including an innovative advertising campaign in Dublin Airport• Coordinate Agri Aware’s communications with Board members and key stakeholders including the organisation of Board meetings and AGMs

• Create content, monitor, and manage social media accounts for key brands including leading Irish food companies• Write press releases, memos, reports and briefs• Media relations development and pitching to key journalists around consumer and sponsorship campaigns• Monitor media coverage and write media evaluation reports and end of campaign reports• Attend and organise launches and awards ceremonies for clients• Manage and update the agency's blogger list ensuring all relevant influencers are on the list• Manage and update the networking and events diary for the agency• Carry out research, prepare mood boards, and prepare PowerPoint presentations ahead of pitches• Support Client Managers in the day-to-day running of campaigns

Editor of a busy newsroom which produced two popular weekly newspapers to over 22,400 homes across the Midlands.• Manage all editorial staff (full-time and contract) to produce this busy weekly newspaper to high standards• Produce accurate and accountable copy within tight deadlines for print and social media• Actively reported on the lead-up to and count of the 2007 and 2011 General Elections, 2009 and 2014 local and European elections and 2014 bye-election. This included all live social media updates • Liaise with clients and write advertorial and promotional copy for publication• Established the first dedicated Food and Wine section in the region concentrating on local produce• Contribute to national and regional newspapers and radio stations on a freelance basis

I joined the Galway Advertiser as part of the work experience portion of my MAJ. I worked on news stories, features, interviews, etc before coming a full-time journalist. I then transfered to the Athlone office where I became editor.
