I am currently working as a welfare benefits caseworker for Pobl in Cardiff. I provided advice and guidance for clients on welfare benefits, completing forms, attending medical assessments, mandatory reconsiderations, appeals and tribunals for our vulnerable clients. I up-skill our tenancy support workers by providing regular training on the benefit system and improving their knowledge. I liaise with the local council and organisations within Cardiff to get best results for clients and working together combining our knowledgeI create tools to help my team support clients with their tenancy such as income and maximisations tool.I help combine statistics from grants and income maximisation tool which I created to provide evidence for our bidding for tenancy support in Cardiff. I have also provided tenancy support during the pandemic which has included support in housing issues, setting up utilities, debt advice and referring clients for support for mental health, substances misuse and domestic violence. I have built up a lot of housing law knowledge as well as my knowledge from citizens advice which includes, debt, immigration, family law and consumer advice.
