I deliver self care courses throughout the community to: introduce people to relevant local services; help people understand how their behaviour affects their health; support and motivate individuals to change harmful habits; explain the benefits of healthier food and lifestyle choices; encourage people in different communities to work together and record activity levels and results, using these to motivate clients.

I manage a befriending project for a support service for Carers which gives respite care to Carers. My main duties include managing of a support worker, five employed befrienders and a team of volunteer befrienders. I am responsible for recruitment of staff including volunteers within my project. I also assess Carers accessing the service to ensure they meet the criteria. I have created and implemented a system of service provision monitoring to monitor links between carers, befrienders and volunteers. I am responsible for reviewing and updating all policies relating to the service and have established a system of record keeping which works well for the project. I also liaise and network with relevant agencies for the furtherance of the Sitting Service and deliver promotional talks as required or requested. I have developed and continue to develop a broad knowledge of community based resources.
