About Maria Kivistö

I hold a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from Aalto University. My experience in medical device industry started at Philips Medical Systems, where I worked as a R&D Physicist trainee in a MR guided High Intensity Focused Ultrasound team during my studies. In Sooma Oy, I started with my master’s thesis and got gradually more responsibility in the team, currently working as R&D Manager. I have exploited my medical device knowledge in various areas such as software development, medical device instrumentation, clinical research and production. As a team worker I bring positive thinking and innovative ideas to the team. I may also surprise my work mates with home-baked cakes.
