Work under supervision of the assigned teacher to assist with following Individualized Education Plans (IEP) for special needs students with varying levels of physical and intellectual ability. These skills include tasks such as learning the alphabet, basic arithmetic, basic concepts of health, science, reading and history. Lessons also address basic life skills such as personal hygiene, dressing oneself, safe decisions and social skills. Other duties include:Monitoring and assisting the students with attendance at special activities such as art, music, PE, technology.Prepare materials necessary for specific activities and lessons.Completion of general administrative work such as sorting folders, reporting to parents information and paperwork that needed to be sent home, including any projects from public display.Update data for Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals, including filing information on daily progress, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) checklists, activity logs, and maintaining confidential student records. Attending required and optional training specific to special needs children.

Responsible for the care of children from the ages of 6 weeks to 12 years.Duties include: Insuring safety and welfare of the children; providing entertainment; organization of the room, supplies and toys; providing snacks; proper sanitizing of all surfaces and toys; interacting with the children and insuring activities are equally shared; monitoring outside playground activity; notification of staff and parents of any issues.
