I live & work as a real estate sales person on the North Fork, a picturesque, rambling ribbon of villages and farms at the eastern end of Long Island that first captured my heart about 20 years ago when I became a weekender from New York City. (I moved to NYC to attend Barnard College where I met my husband who is Columbia University graduate. We made NYC our home where we raised our two children.) Five years ago I made a major life transition from weekender to full time resident, giving me a unique perspective and understanding of the needs and concerns of clients making a life change.Prior to real estate I was an editorial director at Condé Nast Publications and an event producer - unexpectedly, both were perfect primers for realtors. Real estate transactions are events which similarly need comprehensive production plans, a visual eye for staging, acute attention to the smallest details, a focus on the bottom line, dozens of interactions between all sorts of people to present and prepare properties for sale. As a producer of photographs and creative content, my job was to sell big editorial ideas to inspire millions of readers. I am the author of six books about event style. I know how to make photos and scripts work together to engage and motivate buyers. Sellers will appreciate my staging and marketing instincts, I honed these skills producing thousands of features for all sorts of publications and TV segments. Buyers will appreciate my insightful eye, developed from scouting hundreds of locations around the world.
