My previous employment history has consisted of secretarial and office administration work, including managerial positions within the hospitality industry. However, something was missing and five years ago I decided to return to education. I took the plunge and attempted to try a new journey into college, this would have not been possible without the Trinity Access Programme. I completed a tough, but yet extremely supportive and enjoyable year with them in preparation for third level education. During that year I was class representative and became a Tap Ambassador and community mentor.I have now recently completed my four year degree in English Studies at Trinity College Dublin receiving a BA honours degree.During my time at Trinity I continued as a Tap Ambassador giving numerous talks to upcoming students regarding the pathway I chose to take. I also gave talks at my previous secondary school in Finglas during College Awareness Week. I was nominated by the TAP Programme for the Dean's Leadership Award for volunteering which I was delighted to win. In 2023 I received a Certificate of Appreciation for my volunteering for the Trinity College English Conversation Classes for refugees.Throughout my time in college I continued to write my poetry, which is one of my greatest passions, some have been placed in Trinity Library Archives and this year one of my poems was placed in the Emmett Till archives which I was deeply honoured by.I have also been a member of the Mature Students Society Committee for four years and have enjoyed working with other mature students in keeping inclusion and diversity present during college years, as being a mature student can sometimes be isolating and daunting. Now I look forward to hoping to receive a job opportunity in the area of adult education and to encourage mature students to take that second opportunity they may have missed the first time around. My motto is it is Never Too Late. I always look forward to learning more and improving myself and have the ability to quickly learn new skills. I believe education is for everyone and am passionate about inclusion and diversity within college. I am ambitious, with great communication and leadership skills, wishing to work with and encourage others on their journey.
