Support evaluation of AU/CIEFFA Strategic Plans (2016-2018; 2018-2020) and development of new Strategic Plan (2021 to 2025). With COVID-19 impacting Africa's education systems, I am also looking forward to undertake work on documenting evidences in regards to strategies on addressing gender issues in the curriculum (teaching and learning materials, in particular); mechanisms that ensure gender-sensitive teaching and learning in refugee communities; and triggers that boost Girls and Women's competencies and interest in STEM and TVET in Africa. All these, in light of the implementation of the AU/CIEFFA's new Strategic Plan and on-going reforms in the sector on the continent, and anticipated changes in regards to use of digital technology as hybrid teaching and learning is being considered; and continental qualifications framework, as the continent prepares to open its borders on free movement of people and labour.

The assignment was two fold: (i) to support Business Development for Save the Children in identification of donor opportunities in Education, leading to proposal development; and (ii) To provide technical input to on going Education Programme activities in both Mainland and Zanzibar. During my work with Save the Children, the organization in collaboration with the Tanzania Education Network was able to access funding from the GPE portfolio for NGO support in education, for supporting out-of-school pregnant school girls in education provision.

Member of Technical Assistance Team for the Development of Concept Note and Program Development for Tanzania Mainland’s Global Partnership on Education support phase two. The assignment consists of providing inputs for Tanzania’s application to the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) for an Education Sector Program Implementation Grant. The availed support is intended to improve the quality of basic education in Tanzania focusing on learning, equity and efficiency, including building capacity in pre-primary and primary education, while also paying attention to out-of-school children and children with disabilities. Tanzania received a Maximum Country Allowance of 90 million United States Dollars (USD).

Worked as Senior Education Specialist. Had a number of portfolio. These included closing education projects in the Gambia (on TVET); Sierra Leone (Basic Education infrastructure and equipment); task managing higher education projects in Rwanda (notably Kigali Institute of Science and Technology (KIST; Innovation hubs), including initial preparations for the construction and equipping of the Carnegie Melon Kigali Campus; with the African Union Commission (AUC) supported Pan African University (PAU) project: The project aims at establishing a world class regional university, to cater for selected continental development needs at Masters’ and PhD levels, in science, technology; governance and regional integration.

Worked as a Youth Programme Officer supporting out-of-school adolescents in education; access to sexual and reproductive health information and services for the youth in Dar Es Salaam. Also Coordinated efforts of the advocacy of reinstating pregnant school girls back to school, initiated by Carnegie Melon Foundation, one of the three globally (other two are Jamaica and Botswana) and supported by Sweden. Also established a Youth Center in the same premises to incorporate opportunities for community engagement through Theatre Arts. The youth were recruited by a local television station and recorded a soap opera, depicting challenges of adolescents, incorporating messaging on school pregnancies.

Supervising and supporting initial programming in Tanzania, in Dar Es Salaam in selected urban sites of Buguruni and Vinguguti. Main sectors included education (expansion and rehabilitation of 8 primary schools), water supply, health (support to facilities construction, training of health staff, including traditional birth attendants)
