This position provides many opportunities to improve my clinical aptitude with a caseload of 25-31 youth and families: gather information about clients through a variety of assessment methods to develop treatment plans and teams (including clinicians, behavior specialists, psychiatrists, parent and youth advocates, and system partners) and then implement interventions in face to face behavioral support, case management, collateral, and child family team meeting appointments.

Working 40 hours weekly, I support second-generation immigrant children's development by implementing home- and community-based applied behavior analysis (ABA) interventions and activities under the supervision and guides created by a program manager and clinical supervisor. I work with youth diagnosed with autism.

As a trainer, I develop personalized programs and provide supplemental nutrition advice for rehabilitative, functional, and sport-specific purposes. My interests are related to pre-habilitative (neurokinetic-like) therapy, strength conditioning, and competitive bodybuilding, all in which can contribute to a “movement-enriched lifestyle.” As of the expiration date of my certification, I no longer offer personalized coaching services. Since April 2019, I only offer consultation services to certified trainers and clients.

Along with a cohort of PhD candidates and graduate program faculty, I completed a doctoral-level field experience examining cause and effects of cultural-specific trauma, and the effectiveness of non-profit grassroots organizations interacting within Ghana’s socio-political systems. I visited 2 school-based applied behavioral analysis service NGOs, a women and children’s shelter, and a youth center to discuss service delivery and outcomes.

I provided administrative and direct support to the intensive case management team and refugee, asylee, human trafficking victims, and special immigrant visa families who require more assistance towards self-sufficiency after the initial 90 day reception and placement services upon arrival to the states. Services target the following domain needs: housing, employment, English-learning, communication, transportation, integration, other family needs and discord, and navigation in the education, physical health, mental health, and benefits systems.

I underwent a series of promotions as a direct support professional in an adolescent group home environment to a community-based case manager working with families legally separated by allegations of abuse and neglect. Time-management skills were required as I worked with 3 to 9 families a week through supervised visitations, homemaker services, and case management. During my career, I gained a higher position to share expertise as a trainer for new agency hires in the following areas: family services, trauma-informed practice, community resources, social issues, safe sleep, and court conduct. Outcomes includes successful case closure and expansion of agency services in other state counties.
