I received the ACE (Advancing Community-Engagement) Grant to dedicate towards my community-engaged research, facilitate stakeholder and community meetings to establish priority needs in disadvantaged neighborhoods for the allocation of the Climate Protection Fund ($40 million+) with the Campus-City Partnership, establish strong relationships with neighborhood leaders through door-knocking and personalized letters, oversee media coverage and the creation of digital designs to communicate the movement’s most recent successes and future plans.

Operate DefundData.org, providing essential budgetary data on the expansion of mass criminalization and incarceration across the US. I also compile budget reports and data analysis of the 50 largest U.S cities to reveal budgetary disinvestment of police departments and investment in communities. We further support grassroot partners by providing access to the University’s abolition research and coordinate research publishment.

As the political affairs intern at The Borgen Project, I lobbied my Congressional leaders in Texas and Colorado through meetings, emails, and phone calls to advance policies and programs that make poverty a focus of U.S foreign policy. I additionally ran a fundraising campaign that raised over $500 and mobilized 20+ community members to engage with their congressional leaders.
