At my start at UQ, I was producing polyclonal antibodies against peptides of Early Pregnancy Factor (EPF), now known as Chaperonin-Cpn-10 and studying their inhibitory effects on cancer cell lines. Followed by production and purification of recombinant Cpn10 in several systems, and its antibodies, for further studies into its immunological role in mammalian systems and disease (i.e. MS or multiple sclerosis), during my years at Herston.Other positions as RA involved me in more recombinant… Show more At my start at UQ, I was producing polyclonal antibodies against peptides of Early Pregnancy Factor (EPF), now known as Chaperonin-Cpn-10 and studying their inhibitory effects on cancer cell lines. Followed by production and purification of recombinant Cpn10 in several systems, and its antibodies, for further studies into its immunological role in mammalian systems and disease (i.e. MS or multiple sclerosis), during my years at Herston.Other positions as RA involved me in more recombinant protein production and purification, and scale up of sialyltransferase, ST6, for crystallography studies in collaboration with Alchemia at IMB. This allowed me to participate in the set up of what it's now a wide UQ facilty: PEF or Protein Expression Facility, and again producing and purifying recombiant proteins for our costumers. Show less
