The students are working hard for 3 months to solve challenging industrial problems, connect with each other and build strong science teams. Because they are the future of science and technology!Do you want to hear more and participate in the programme? I am one day/week at the university, please feel free to contact me. Show less
  • Nwo (Netherlands Organisation For Scientific Research)
    Policy Officer Research And Industry

I worked in close collaborations with universities and other R&D partners to solve future challenges in molecular localization and meso-structure of soft matters, aiming for major breakthroughs in resolution and chemical specificity. We applied a combination of microscopic and spectroscopic techniques to resolve the molecular structure of Unilever products, e.g. foods and home and personal care. We applied Raman Imaging, Infrared Imaging, Fluorescence Microscopy and Electron Microscopy (cryo- SEM and TEM). Show less
  • Tno Technical Sciences
    Research Scientist
    Tno Technical Sciences 2010 - 2013
    The Hague Area, Netherlands
At TNO, I built and qualified optical systems. My main project had the goal to implement spectroscopy in various fields including nano-technology, space research and medical applications. We used Raman Spectroscopy to detect the molecular composition of nanoparticle contamination on reticles and substrates. We designed a sensor based on Raman Spectroscopy and LIBS (Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy) to detect nanoparticles on-line during the particle synthesis– a tool required to… Show more At TNO, I built and qualified optical systems. Together with the TNO Sensor Technology and Utrecht Medical Center (UMC), we have constructed and qualified a tool to detect carcinogenic tumors during the medical surgeries.Other projects included qualification and commissioning of space instrumentation (Gaia- a telescope that will chart a 3-D map of our Galaxy), adapt the existing spectrometers for future Lunar Mission to detect the composition of the lunar regolith, implement new technologies for the future lithography machines and fiber optic sensing. Phd Student
    Fom Institute Amolf 2005 - 2009
My PhD research was focused on applying ultrafast spectroscopy, confocal and fluorescence microscopy to biological membranes in order to understand its functions and formation. We studied the effects of ions, water, peptides and proteins on phospholipid monolayers, as a model system for the biological membrane. We discovered a revolutionary way of investigating macromolecules-lipid interactions in a label-free maner by using the water vibrational response.
