Long Island

The Program is an initiative of the New York State Intergenerational Network- Long Island. My responsibilities include the training and orientation of college students and community volunteers to teach English to adult immigrants and prepare them to take the U.S. Citizenship Test. I arrange the placement of the volunteers in agencies, libraries and churches in Nassau and Suffolk Counties and oversee the program giving the volunteers help and guidance. I also periodically teach some of the classes.

Dowling College, Oakdale, Ny

The Program is an initiative of the Dowling College Intergenerational Center. We train college students and community volunteers to teach English to adult immigrants and prepare them to take the U.S. Citizenship Test. Our students are then placed with community agencies.
