While at the college clinic, I employed the Social Thinking approach devised by Michelle Garcia Winner, the individualized narrative language intervention on the personal narratives of children with autism, the story grammar marker system, combined directive and non-directive play therapy, Applied Behavior Analysis, and Pivotal Response Treatment. When working with individuals with articulation problems or differences, I utilized combined traditional and phonological interventions as well as the Compton Pronouncing English as a Second Language program. While engaging in therapy with individuals presenting with reduced fluency, such fluency facilitating techniques as easy onset, light articulatory contact, pull-outs, and cancellation were used. The majority of my therapy sessions were based on social-cognitive as well as developmental psycholinguistic theoretical models. Additionally, I administered speech and language evaluations that included informal (play, conversational sample, picture descriptions) and formal (e.g., CELF 5, EOWPVT/ROWPVT, GFTA-3; GORT-5, OWLS-II, CASL, OLAI-2) tools of assessments. Part of my training also involved generation of individualized SMART goals for each child and short term goals that were related to the Common Core Curriculum, using the SOAP note writing, generation of client charts, progress notes, and end term summaries.
