In this role I'm responsible for leading various projects related to seaweed-derived products as part of the company's sustainability initiatives, handling everything from experimental design to project implementation and development. Additionally, I work as the primary contact on biological matters between Denmark and Tanzania, and take on the role of biological supervisor for production in both countries.

For this project, I gained a strong knowledge of ecological models and statistical analysis techniquesby working with statistical software (R/Rstudio + Excel), and developed my skills in analyzing environmental data and conducting statistical modeling.My key achievements and insights gained include:- Building and specifying models based on catch data collected from the Ringkøbing fjord, Nissum fjord, and Nissum Bredning- Recommending and developing strategies to improve the predictive power of the models and identify additional factors that may impact the abundance of the species- Presenting findings to stakeholders and contributing to the development of management tools for commercial and recreational fisheries in Denmark- Investigating and identifying the impact of drivers such as salinity, temperature, depth, and cormorant predation pressure on the abundance of the two species- Analyzing and interpreting the results of the models to understand the relationships between habitat suitability, environmental drivers, and the abundance of the two species- Improving my written and verbal communication skills- Being able to work independently and as part of a team

- Conducted two-year field sampling to collect and analyze data on benthic flora and fauna within Natura 2000 sites and West Coast fjords in Denmark- Performed statistical analysis in R using habitat modeling to understand the impact and interaction of bird colonies and environmental factors on flatfish distribution.- Maintained records of surveys and prepared comprehensive reports to communicate results to stakeholders, while also learning about EIA and habitat suitability

- Used mark-recapture photo-ID techniques to gather information on cetaceans' movement, residency patterns, and social structure, through various survey methods- Installed camera traps and carried out surveys to determine jackals' abundance- Performed SQL and Excel analysis to filter and report information on common fisheries between Greece and Turkey regarding minimum landing size- Analyzed microplastic content in marine animal digestive systems- Contributed to the creation and operation of the Aegean Marine Rehabilitation- Provided basic first aid and respond to strandings for cetaceans, seals, and turtles

- Conducted a week-long research expedition on a boat to test fish tagging techniques on the Mola mola species.- Registered data on Mola mola specimens, including size, weight, and tagging information.- Utilized R Studio to analyze and visualize data, generating plots and charts to showcase the relationship between sharks' vertical distribution, oxygen levels, and temperature.- Maintained equipment and supplies, including tagging tools, measuring devices, and data recording systems, to ensure proper functioning and reliability during fieldwork.

- Evaluated the immunological and physiological response of the estuarine edible bivalve Scrobicularia plana to distinct heatwaves scenarios- Conducted extensive laboratory analyses of the immune and oxidative stress response of the species, including total haemocyte count (THC) and respiratory oxidative burst of haemocytes- Determined species vulnerabilities to stressors and their capacity to adapt to climate change by performing data analysis using MINITAB software- Analyzed the results to determine the species capacity to adapt to environmental temperature changes and identify any potential vulnerabilities to stressors.- Collaborated with marine biologists and researchers to publish the scientific article "Immunological and oxidative stress responses of the bivalve Scrobicularia plana to distinct patterns of heatwaves"

- Volunteered in the project Aquarius 2.0 undertaken by AIESEC in NSBM and under the Sustainable Development goals -6 and -14- Collaborated in multiple turtle and biodiversity conservation projects- Acted as the environmental subject matter expert for projects, ensuring minimal environmental impact.- Carried out scientific communication on marine biodiversity, and local fauna and flora
