As Executive Director, I oversaw all aspects of editorial, fundraising, operations and marketing for the Philadelphia Public School Notebook, a 27-year-old nonprofit news organization. The Notebook's mission was to not only report the news about education in Philadelphia, but to spur action to improve public education in one of the nation's poorest cities. It is now part of the Chalkbeat network of education news sites.Duties included:• Editing, writing and publishing production using InDesign, InCopy and Microsoft Office products, including PowerPoint.• . hibu (formerly Yell Group), King of Prussia, PABased out of the UK, hibu is a global provider of telephone directories, small business websites, direct-mail marketing and my project, community magazines. As No. 2 leader of a startup initiative for hibu to launch community magazines across the U.S. and the UK, I oversee all editorial operations to produce more than 650 magazines every month for a combined circulation of 3.4 million, collaborate on sales initiatives bringing in $40 million in revenue in the first 12 months, work on the development of technology, set project goals and quality standards, and manage more than 100 employees. • Refine the mission and execute the plan to produce more than 600 monthly magazines in 14 months.• Devise and deliver strategic internal communications plan for office-based and remote workforce of 120 employees in two countries.• Guide the project’s community engagement strategy, which has garnered more than 84,000 community-submitted articles and more than 196,000 photos in the last 12 months.• Create and present training to editorial staffs across the country and in the UK via webinars and written communications for print and digital. • Lead sales training online and in person and write and oversee design of online and print media kits.

As chief of operations for all of the Stowe Reporter LLC publications and websites (Stowe Reporter, Waterbury Record, Stowe Guide and Magazine, Stowe and Green Mountain Weddings and numerous specialty products, StoweToday.com, stowereporter.com, waterburyrecord.com), oversee all aspects of editorial, internet, production, advertising, business office and circulation for $1.9 million company.• Led the company to its highest-grossing revenue years in 2007, 2010 and 2011, increased company revenue 50 percent in six years.• Created and launched the Waterbury Record, a new weekly newspaper, in January 2007; four websites; a glossy magazine; a daily deals program and a digital app.• Webmaster/ social media director for all products.• Served as media contact/spokeswoman for the company and for the Vermont Press Association and New England Society of Newspaper Editors. • Won 2011 General Excellence Award from the New England Newspaper and Press Association, and won General Excellence Award among all weeklies in 2011 Vermont Press Association competition.• Perform editorial tasks including editing, writing, newspaper production.• Train government officials on Vermont’s open records and open meetings laws with the Vermont League of Cities and Towns and the Vermont Secretary of State’s Office.
