My name is Maria Baldrige and I am currently a Registered Nurse with UPMC in the Peri-Anesthesia Department. I split my shifts working in pre-op and in the recovery room. I have a year of home health nursing experience as well as working as a supervisor in that field. I started my nursing career off working in the Intensive Care Unit at Jefferson Hospital for one year.While in nursing school, I was a patient care technician for a very broad range of patients. I worked on the postpartum unit at UPMC Magee Women's Hospital, the bone marrow transplant unit at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, and on both a leukemia unit and a family medicine unit at UPMC Shadyside. This diverse experience has prepared me for my current position as a pre-op/PACU nurse, as UPMC East performs orthopedic procedures on patients as young as 13. I would describe myself as hard-working, determined, punctual, reliable, personable, and ambitious. I am compassionate towards my patients and love feeling like I am making an impact in their care during their hospital stay.
