I was an assistant at Lyndhurst Animal Clinic. It was my first time working in an animal clinic and it was wonderful to see high quality veterinary medicine. I was able to progress from just restraining animals during physical exams to drawing blood and taking radiographs. The best part of my day was watching the clinicians think through a problem and choose appropriate diagnostics and come up with solutions that seem like magic to me but now having progressed in my own veterinary career I can begin to see the connections they were making. I'll forever be grateful for the chance they gave me and all I learned.

I was an assistant to a first year undergrad biology course where I ran the laboratory portion. It was a great experience and really helped me get more comfortable with public speaking but also helped me practice teaching biological concepts to others. Communication and organization are both very important skills in veterinary medicine so I'm grateful I was able to practice both skills.
