My primary focus areas are:- Power-to-X: The use of green electrcity to produce green hydrogen and other PtX products such as green ammoniak, green methanol and green jetfuel - The role of gas in the future energy system and in the context of decarbonisation- Financial regulation in an energy market context incl. REMIT (The European Reglation for Energy Market Integrity and Transparency prohibitting market manipulation and insider trading in energy markets)

As an economic special advisor at the Danish Utility Regulator my main responsibilities included:- Development of the regulator’s surveillance of the Danish wholesale energy markets, including surveillance of behaviour potentially breaching the regulation prohibiting market manipulation and insider trading (REMIT)- Oversight of terms and prices for the Danish upstream gas system as well as setting of price level in case of complaints- Economic analyses of the expansion of the Danish gas infrastructure in the form of the Baltic Pipe Project, which is planned to transport natural gas from Norway to Poland via Denmark from October 2022- Ad hoc analyses and input to various areas such as the future EU gas regulation (the EU gas package) included sector coupling between the gas and electricity sectors as well as development of power-to-gasThe main results from my time as special advisor include: - A market rapport about the trends and developments of the Danish wholesale gas market in 2018 and the future focus areas of the regulator (published in June 2019)- Economic analyses for the decision about cross-border cost allocation between Denmark and Poland for the Baltic Pipe Project based on the European energy infrastructure regulation TEN-E (2018)- Analysis of behaviour breaching the prohibition against market manipulation in the electricity markets and handover to the Danish State Prosecutor – finalised with the charged company accepting the breach and the financial sanction (2018)

As economist at the Danish Energy Regulatory Authority (now the Danish Utility Regulator) my tasks and responsibilities included:- Monitoring and enforcement of the EU regulation against insider trading and market manipulation in energy wholesale markets (REMIT), incl. participation in international collaboration ad meetings- Supervision of the Danish upstream gas infrastructure, incl. terms and prices- Market monitoring and analysis of the Danish wholesale market for natural gas- Oversight of the Danish retail market for natural gasThe main results from my time as economic advisor include:- A decision on the economic viability of the Baltic Pipe Project, which is planned to transport natural gas from Norway to Poland via Denmark from October 2022, based on the European gas network codes (2017)- Economic analysis for determining a reasonable price level for the Danish upstream gas system, which is used to transport gas produced in the North Sea to the Danish gas market (2016)
