About Maria Camerotto
What a journey it’s been. I’ve lived a life in corporate as a PA & as group EA, Project Managing and amazing Events management. My beautiful adopted Kids came along & wanting to commit to my family but remain in the workforce, I created my own consulting business incorporating Intercultural Consulting bridging the gap between Australia & South Korea. It’s been a life of understanding, negotiating, tolerances, travelling, servicing groups & individuals and a whole lot of fun. Then the one thing we dread happened in 2018. I was diagnosed with an incurable disease. The big C came into my life. Multiple Myeloma. A blood cancer. What was once a death sentence with only a few years to live now has an opportunity with treatment to help live with cancer, not die from it. Fatigue, brain fog but an attitude of not being beaten saw me look at ways that I can still do what I love, working with people and their individual needs. There’s a reason for my new journey & a thirst for making a difference in my new world.So here I am. A certified Holistic Counsellor & Life Coach working with Chronic Illness & Cancer Warriors. Setting goals on how to continue a business life whilst still managing their treatments. Facing the reality of slowing down with cruel diseases but continue to live with dignity. Letting go but still managing with the art of delegation to be a part of work or business. Reality checks.As Guidance Coach in Chair Yoga & Meditation I assist those who aren’t physically &/or mentally able to reprogram themselves. Being incapacitated doesn’t mean you can’t move your mind. Practices in Chair Yoga & Meditation is great for the fatigued, wheelchair or bed bound giving you the opportunity to “exercise” in a way that doesn’t exclude you from being able to be a part of a mind, body & soul exercise routine.Then lastly (pardon the pun) is my End Of Life Doula, Counselling & Consulting role. My calling in life. Organising your affairs for the end. Advanced Care Planning, Wills, final Wishes, looking at options of sustainable funeral to a funeral at home. Planning a Living Wake (FOMO- I loved mine!). Helping the dying live till their last breath.
