I am responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Vapotherm’s legal compliance program including legal research, policy recommendation, drafting and implementation, training, and auditing. I act as a resource for all employees (U.S. based and internationally) on matters related to professional conduct, global anti-bribery initiatives (Anti-Kickback, UK Anti-Bribery, and FCPA) and data privacy (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA). I was responsible for operationalizing new legal obligations in support of Vapotherm’s IPO in the fall of 2018 and during the rapid expansion of Vapotherm’s workforce as the organization continued to grow in market share in March 2020. I work closely with the VP of Legal Affairs, CFO, and CEO and chair Vapotherm’s Compliance Committee. Aside from my daily responsibilities, I have been heavily involved in the formation of the organization’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee and have supported programming creation and led education sessions for the organization on relevant topics. In 2019 Vapotherm was recognized for excellence in Diversity & Inclusion efforts by the Diversity Workforce Coalition and NH Health and Equity Partnership.

My duties involved researching prospective donors, scheduling and staffing call time hours, processing high-dollar donations, maintaining databases of contributions and assisting with campaign finance disclosures. I worked closely with the candidate and the campaign’s Finance Director.

I served as an intern at the U.S. Embassy in Madrid, Spain. I was responsible for drafting daily reports on Spanish top news stories for Washington desk counterparts, researching and writing cables on matters related to European politics, corruption, and religious pluralism in the region. I also supported the production of the annual DOS Trafficking in Persons report. During my internship I supported in building an Embassy program in which Embassy representatives visited local diverse schools, donated books on diversity and inclusion and lead roundtable discussions about racial and religious tolerance and bullying. I was also selected to represent the Embassy in a public diplomacy initiative which involved traveling to low-income schools, screening the film “Girl Rising,” and delivering a talk and Q&A session on personal experiences as a woman of color and choosing to continue my education through college level, be involved in extracurricular activities, and take advantage of educational and professional opportunities to set myself up for long term success.
