My degree is in communications (broadcast journalism) has given me solid interviewing and problem-solving skills. It opened up the door for me to complete a study immersion in Chile. And after I finished my degree, I seized the moment to live and work abroad. My dream of chasing stories as a reporter quickly changed to traveling the world as an explorer. I returned to the States with international stories, a Spanish tongue and a fire in my belly. I took a job in marketing and sales with Bustos Media where I sold radio advertising to both Spanish and English speaking businesses. It gave me a tough skin and taught me the fundamentals of a good sales model.Some years later, opportunity knocked and I took my sales skills to the banking industry working for Marquette Finance Company (formerly Applied Financial). I talked to C-level executives and decision-makers to discuss their leasing and finance opportunities for capital equipment. Life happens and I took time off to start a family. I returned to the workforce and turned my attention to the healthcare industry.
