I began my professional journey at Wyndham Capital Mortgage after completing my degree at Western Carolina University. My initial objective as a Mortgage Associate was to pass the NMLS licensing exam by becoming proficient in federal mortgage related laws, uniform state content, general mortgage knowledge, mortgage origination activities and ethics. Upon passing the nationwide mortgage licensing exam on my first attempt, I began training for my roles and responsibilities as a future Mortgage Loan Originator. My training involved learning how to take mortgage loan applications, understanding how to comprehend a client's credit report, becoming knowledgeable on the complexities of different loan program offerings and gaining insight on the different stages of the loan approval process. This training also provided extensive sales training on how to make outbound calls to company provided leads that inquired about a refinance or a home purchase. We learned how to overcome objections by building rapport with the leads and how to turn the loan application process into an educational experience for the borrower. I actively listened to professional guidance and constructive criticism from seasoned loan officers to improve my capabilities of becoming a successful Mortgage Consultant. After 5 months of demonstrating consistent proficiency, I was promoted to Mortgage Consultant.

Monkee's is a thriving corporate franchise in the upscale retail sector, with a total of 30 independently owned storefronts across the East Coast of the United States. During my time working for Monkee's of Blowing Rock in North Carolina, I served as assistant manager while actively participating in sales responsibilities that played a key role in achieving our weekly sales targets. In this management role, I led our social media presence through Instagram and Facebook by curating visually appealing posts designed to effectively showcase our inventory to our online target audience. As assistant manager, I oversaw inventory management by inputting new inventory into our software system in addition to designing store displays to highlight the latest arrivals. I provided guidance and motivation to the sales associates in working collectively toward achieving our sales goals by offering our customers a unique and inviting shopping experience. Maintaining a keen awareness of trends, brands, materials and quality was essential for me to enhance our shopper's overall styling experience. Cultivating relationships with our customers played a significant part in my position as assistant manager, strongly contributing to the development of my interpersonal communication skills.
