I am currently on contract at the only level one trauma center in Oklahoma, I work solely in the blood bank. I run two ortho vision analyzers and perform complex testing.

During my time at SSM, I worked as a generalist. I ran all aspects in the laboratory ranging from microbiology to transfusion services. I also did urology, virology, hematology and coagulation testing. I also received and processed specimens along with helping collect as needed.

I was presented with this blood bank position right out of college. After extensive training, I ran the blood bank completely independently, with no other techs on shift with me. I handled this position well and did this for over two years. I would have to say this was one of my proudest moments in my career to be able to handle such a job as a new graduate!
