I am a sophomore Biology student at UCLA exploring science-related career paths. Specifically, I am interested in becoming a veterinarian, doctor of osteopathic medicine, or physical therapist. I am looking to gain experience in these fields through volunteering, shadowing, or paid positions. All that matters to me is that I learn! I am also interested in doing research related to marine and environmental science, conservation, animal behavior, ecology, cognitive science, or orthopedics. I have experience volunteering at and shadowing various animal shelters in my hometown of Santa Cruz, California, and Los Angeles, California. Through my positions at these shelters, I have assisted in the adoptions of dozens of cats and dogs, and I plan to continue my work with these animals throughout my life because I enjoy helping them as well as those in my community, no matter what career I decide to pursue.
